What to do if a book is not right, damaged, or never turned up. Last updated 16 August 2026.
If a book is not right for you, you may return it within 30 days of delivery for a refund, provided it is unread and in the condition it arrived in.
Write to Info@ruthannthompson.com before sending anything back, so we can give you the return address and watch out for your parcel. Please do not post a return unannounced.
Once your return arrives we will refund you to the card you paid with. Refunds usually appear within a few business days, depending on your bank.
If a book arrives damaged, if you were sent the wrong title, or if your order never turned up, tell us and we will replace it or refund it in full. Which of those two happens is your choice.
You will not be asked to pay return postage on a book that arrived damaged or on an order we got wrong. A photograph of the damage is helpful but we are not going to argue with you about it.
The 30-day window is for changes of mind. A damaged or incorrect order is a mistake on our side and we will sort it out whenever you notice.
Because a digital book is delivered instantly and cannot be returned, digital purchases are not refundable once the file has been downloaded.
If you have not downloaded it yet, we can still refund you — our records show whether a download has happened, so just ask.
A download link that expired, ran out of uses, or never worked is not a refund question at all. Write to us and we will issue a fresh one free of charge.
Deposits, cancellations and rescheduling for speaking engagements are covered by the written agreement for that booking, not by this page.
Email Info@ruthannthompson.com or call Office (614) 568‑3492. Please include your order number if you have it — but if you cannot find it, your name and the email address you ordered with are enough for us to look you up.
